1. ExPEDite Run-Time & Design Time View (for building managers)
The run-time view addresses the user that wants to view the current energy utilization situation in the district and optimize it over a short time frame (e.g. up to a few days in the future). The Digital Twin’s Run Time View is now connected to real-time. The Digital Twin’s Run Time View is now connected to real-time data and its visualization on the RTU Campus. Real-time data plays a vital role in objectively assessing comfort levels.
The ExPEDite project has made notable strides in its development of the Design View in Unreal Engine, creating an innovative platform for urban energy planning. The Design View enables not only a visualization of the built environment, but also real time information on energy flows and spatiotemporal optimization of the district's energy needs, allowing district planning actions to be designed, analysed and compared, leading to evidence-based decision making. The Digital Twin's design-platform will analyse various what-if planning actions, aiding energy and urban planners' evidence-based decision-making processes towards achieving Positive Energy Districts.
The ExPEDite Design View is now published and available on the Steam platform. Steam can be accessed via www.steampowered.com, and you can find the application simply by searching for “ExPEDite” after you install Steam. Please note that, upon download and first launch, some prerequisite components may be required. Steam will automatically prompt you to install these if needed. 2. Decision Support System (DSS)
The DSS allows users to select and customize different energy transition pathways for their district associated with building stock, mobility and transport, renewable energy sources and district heating. Once scenarios are configured, the tool also uses input from the Cost Benefit Analysis to compare and rank the various scenarios in terms of their energy impact and economic performance.

3. ExPEDite Mobile App (for citizens)
Aims to actively engage residents and users of a Positive Energy District (PED), fostering collaboration with local authorities to achieve positive energy outcomes at the district level.
The app is built on key design principles intended to enhance usability and engagement, including gamification, community participation, reward mechanisms, user-generated content, and broad information dissemination.
Leveraging these principles, the application challenges users through activities related to the energy consumption of interconnected buildings, educational quizzes, and community-based tasks. It also encourages users to share relevant news about the PED, stay informed about local developments, and provide feedback through targeted surveys. Additionally, users can earn both individual and collective points, which can be redeemed through supporting organisations.
Overall, the application integrates data from the Design View, the Decision Support System, and other components of the ExPEDite project, resulting in a highly engaging platform that supports achieving PED objectives.
