We’re pleased to share the launch of three new online courses developed by the Interoperable Europe Academy in collaboration with ExPEDite partner OASC—designed to strengthen interoperability knowledge across public administrations and organisations.

As cities and regions increasingly rely on digital solutions to manage energy, mobility, and urban services, interoperability becomes a key enabler for effective and scalable innovation. These courses provide a practical introduction to the concepts, policies, and frameworks that support seamless data exchange and smarter public services.

ExPEDite partner Open & Agile Smart Cities (OASC) has actively contributed to the course content, particularly in the area of MIMs Plus, bringing valuable real-world insights from its work with cities and communities across Europe.

The three courses include:

1. The Interoperable Europe Act: Introduction
A concise overview of the policy framework shaping interoperability in Europe, covering its objectives, key elements, and implications for public administrations.

2. Interoperability: An Introductory Course
An accessible starting point for anyone new to the topic, introducing core concepts, definitions, and the importance of interoperability in today’s digital landscape.

3. Interoperability for Smarter Public Services – An Introduction to MIMs Plus
A practical introduction to the MIMs Plus framework, including real-world applications and insights into how interoperability supports more efficient and citizen-focused public services.
